Who is the SBDC?

Since 2003, the Santa Ana Small Business Development Center Network has been providing small businesses with the information and tools they need to thrive and prosper.

Comprised of a Lead Center, based at the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton, and three primary service centers, Orange County SBDC, Inland Empire SBDC and TriTech SBDC, the tri-county Santa Ana SBDC Network is focused on empowering local businesses. We provide support for the economic growth and development of the Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino County economies by advancing job creation and retention and business expansion.

Our centers also make special efforts to reach members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups, veterans, women and the disabled.

The Santa Ana Regional SBDC Network is funded in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), California State University, Fullerton, the California Community College Chancellors’s Office, host organizations throughout the Santa Ana District in strategically located satellite and outreach centers throughout the region, and other federal, state and local partners as well as private entities.

In 2008, the Santa Ana Regional SBDC Network produced more than 11,500 hours of counseling and delivered more than $47M in capital infusion. In addition, the Network retained approximately 300 jobs, helped create more than 500 new jobs and delivered more than 270 training sessions to small business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Santa Ana Regional SBDC Network is a member of the California SBDC Network, part of a national delivery system that assists more than 1.3 million business owners annually. The SBDC was established by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and operates throughout the U.S. with 63 regional Lead Centers overseeing operations in more than 1,100 SBDC service centers.
