As a result of
the subprime crisis in the United States, the whole world
economy, including the Asian economies, is threatened. The
reputation and stability of financial institutions,
including insurance companies, are under suspicion.
People have begun to question the strength,
stability, and competency of insurance companies. The
strength of their financial status and their ability to
manage their own corporate risks have become critical issues
to consumers and regulators. The study of
Asian Insurance Competency, conducted by California State
University, Fullerton (CSUF) could not be timelier in its
publication.
Thank you for taking your valuable time to participate in our study. In our pioneering research on the competency of the Asian insurance industry, we primarily focused on financial data analysis. As we went through the research, we realized that analysis of financial data alone is not adequate to evaluate the strength, stability, and competency of all insurance companies in Asia. Therefore, your participation in our survey today will help us build an accurate model in our comprehensive research.
