Actuary Scholarships
Two $500 scholarships are provided by CIS for students who meet the criteria
and participate in the Actuary Program by taking exam workshops or Math 390,
Intro to Actuarial Science.

Aon Risk Services Outstanding Insurance Student
This scholarship was established by Aon Risk Services of Southern California to
honor students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The
$1000 award is open to all full-time business students who have taken two or
more program courses.

Auto Club Outstanding Insurance Student
This scholarship was established by the Auto Club of Southern California to
honor students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The two
$1000 awards are available to all full-time business students who have taken
two or more program courses. Auto Club is one of the founding members of CIS.

Bill Doomey Memorial Scholarship
This $1000 scholarship was established by the family and friends of Bill Doomey
to honor his memory. During his tenure as a CIS Board member, Bill gave
generously of his time, wisdom, enthusiasm, and superior guidance. The Pacific
Life Foundation donates matching dollars to all gifts made in Bill’s name.

Business Writing Scholarship
CIS provides a $1000 scholarship to the Business Writing Department for a
Business Writing student who is full-time, has a GPA of 3.0 or better and has
won a place in the Business Writing contest.

CAIPA Scholarships
The Chinese American Insurance Professionals Association sponsors two $750
scholarships annually for full-time business majors pursuing an undergraduate
degree. They have been supporting the scholarship for four years.

Chen da Su Scholarship
This scholarship has been donated by a CIS alumna from Taiwan since 2000, and
provides two $500 awards for business students with an insurance interest.

CPCU Outstanding Insurance Student
The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters of Orange County established this
endowment scholarship to honor students who have demonstrated outstanding
academic performance. The two $1000 awards are available to all full-time
business students who meet the criteria.

Financial Services Professionals Outstanding Insurance Student
This scholarship was established by the Orange County Society of Financial
Services Professionals to honor students who have demonstrated outstanding
academic performance. The $1000 award is open to all full-time business
students.

George Joseph Outstanding Insurance Student
This award was established in honor of George Joseph, founder and CEO of the
Mercury Insurance Group, for his contributions to both CIS and the insurance
industry. The $1000 scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated
outstanding academic performance and assists in meeting educational expenses.

Insurance Professionals of Orange County
A $500 award is offered by the Insurance Professionals of Orange County to
full-time business students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree and have
an interest in becoming an insurance professional.

L.A. Chapter of RIMS
The Los Angeles chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society provides a
$1000 award to full-time business students who are not only academically
outstanding, but also understand the importance of enterprise risk management.

Mercury Insurance Awards
Four $500 awards are sponsored by CIS benefactor Mercury Insurance Group. The
selection of winners is made by CSUF faculty and Mercury executives. This was
the first scholarship received and presented by CIS in 1999.

New York Life Outstanding Insurance Student The
company established this scholarship to honor students who have demonstrated
outstanding academic performance in the insurance or marketing field. The three
$1000 awards are available to all full-time business students.

O.C. Chapter of RIMS Four $500 awards for
business students are sponsored by the Orange County chapter of the Risk &
Insurance Management Society. The chapter has held an annual golf tournament
since 2000 for a $5000 donation to CIS.

O.C. RIMS Outstanding Insurance Student The
O.C. RIMS also contributes three $1000 scholarships to recognize and honor
full-time business students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance
and have a thorough understanding of enterprise risk management.

Pacific Life Outstanding Insurance Student
This scholarship was established by Pacific Life Insurance, which was the
second member company of CIS, to honor students who have demonstrated
outstanding academic performance. The $1000 award is open to all full-time
business students.

scholarship was established by St. Paul Travelers to honor students who have
demonstrated outstanding academic performance and understanding of business
risk management. The two $1000 awards are open to all full-time business
students.

Wang Family Outstanding Insurance Student This
scholarship was established by Jonathame Wang and his son, Stephen Wang, to
honor students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The two
$1000 awards are open to all full-time business students. Wang funds are
matched by State Farm Companies Foundation.

Zenith Outstanding Insurance Student The Zenith
Insurance joined our member companies in 2004 as a Benefactor. The company has
generously provided a $2000 award for a full-time business student who has
shown outstanding academic performance.

Frank Robitaille Scholarship This new $2500
award is donated by the former CEO of the Armstrong-Robitaille Agency. It is
presented each semester to a CSUF team athlete who has taken or is currently
enrolled in one or more of the Insurance and Financial Services program
courses.

Mercury Outstanding Insurance Student As the
Center’s first member company and Benefactor, the Mercury Insurance Group
continues to be a strong supporter of insurance education through CIS. This
year they have contributed a new $3000 scholarship—our largest award—for a
full-time business student with superior academic performance and an interest
in insurance as a career.
