The Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance is pleased to announce its annual Academic Conference on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency, Irvine, Orange County, CA. Papers are invited for presentation in the areas of accounting, finance, and economics (including, but not limited to, the topics of Auditing, Financial Accounting & Reporting, International Accounting, Corporate Governance, and Ethics).
Academics are also invited to attend the Eighth Annual SEC Conference the next day, on Friday, September 18, 2009. at the Hyatt Regency Irvine. The academic conference fee of $225 includes attendance at both events.

Domestic Travelers:
Please direct your flight to John Wayne
Airport (SNA) which is 5 minutes from the hotel. If you are
unable to find a flight to John Wayne, please direct your
flight to either Long Beach or LAX airport.
Hyatt Regency Irvine
provides complimentary airport shuttle to and from John
Wayne. The
shuttle will make rounds.
Pick up at the airport is 15 and 45 minutes after the
hour beginning at 5:15 AM on weekdays and 6:15 AM. on
weekends. The
last pick up is at 11:15 PM nightly.
Please look for Blue vans with white lettering that
read Hyatt Regency Irvine.
For International Travelers:
Please direct your flight to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). You will be arriving at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX. LAX is approximately 45 minutes away from the Hyatt Regency Irvine.

Pick-up at LAX and drop-off at Hyatt Regency Irvine will
cost approximately $35 for the Shared Van Service for one
passenger. Please allow approximately 2 hours to pick-up and
drop-off at Hyatt Regency Irvine. We recommend you make
transportation arrangements prior to your arrival at LAX.
IMPORTANT: Upon arriving at LAX, first
collect all your baggage from Baggage Claim.
Exit baggage claim, and look for the
PRIME TIME agent
in the familiar red had and shirt.
The PRIME TIME agent will be located on the outer island under the
orange SHARED-RIDE sign.
After you cross to the outer island, the Prime Time
agent will call your van, which will be waiting for you in
the nearby staging area, to the curb for your immediate
boarding. If you
arrive at LAX after 11:00 PM or before 7:00 AM, call
(800)733-8267, toll-free from any public phone, and press
option 3 when you hear the greeting.
A PRIME TIME agent will then direct you to your van.
In addition to Prime Time Shuttle, other shuttle services (e.g.,Super Shuttle) and taxis are also available.
The 2008 Annual Academic seminar on Corporate Reporting and Governance was a success. There were over 50 attendees including professors from Cal State University Fullerton, Chapman University, University of California Irvine, Harvard University, University of Tokyo, University of Alberta, Cal Poly Pomona, University of Utah, and Kansas State University. Papers presented at the conference were on issues regarding Corporate Governance and Stock Market Response, CEO Equity Based Compensation, Auditor Independence and Reputation, Shareholder Composition, Audit Delays, GAAP Violations, SFAS 144 and more. The Best Conference Paper award went to Devin Shanthikumar from Harvard Business School for her paper titled "After a Restatement: Long-Run Market and Investor Response". Following the conference there was a reception to welcome the SEC and PCAOB speakers.
