Abstract: This section on data for real estate and business geographic analysis has been part of JREL for about four years. The categorization scheme was introduced in Thrall (2002), and the large annotated data compendium was published in JREL by Thrall (2001). The purpose of this section has been to provide a resource for those in our community to more efficiently and more comprehensively find data that can be used within their analysis. After those initial publications, members of this Real Estate Information Technology (REITech) board, others, and myself, have published additional annotations and references in JREL. Our work has not gone unnoticed by many influential people outside our immediate community. This section of JREL has been invited to be available online at Geospatial One-Stop http://www.geodata.gov/gos within the portal ‘‘Business and Economic.’’
